Volunteer Opportunities:

Computer Instructors, Assistants and Lab Coaches
Join the team to help mature adults develop their confidence and computer skills through our Connections computer classes. You do not need to be an expert - patience and enthusiasm are what matter most. We train you and provide the course materials.

Intergenerational Tutoring
Help a young child learn to read and get a better start in school. Volunteers work one-on-one with the child, for one hour a week during the school day, as a tutor, mentor and friend.

Class Coordinators
OASIS centers need professional, friendly volunteers to help with class activities. As a Class Coordinator, you will be able to enjoy some special programming at a reduced charge.

Walking, Hiking & Biking Leaders
Lead others who are interested in the kinds of activities that you enjoy. Seeking volunteers ages 50+ to plan and lead walks, hikes and bike tours throughout St. Louis.

Peer-Led Monthly Discussion Groups
Trained older adult facilitators conduct monthly discussion groups in the community that provide an opportunity for mature adults to support, encourage and share coping tips with peers and gather resource information.

Oral History
Be the reason someone shares his/her memories -- it's truly a gift to leave a legacy! Seeking volunteers ages 50+.

OASIS Friends
Enrich your life and develop new skills and talents as you enjoy OASIS programs with older adults with developmental disabilities.(Seeking volunteers ages 50+)

Health Insurance Counseling
Help people understand and organize medical insurance information. Seeking volunteers ages 50+

Speakers Bureau
If you enjoy public speaking and an ever-changing venue, this opportunity is for you! Help spread the word about the exciting programs at OASIS. Seeking volunteers ages 50+.

OASIS Storytellers
Whether it is a story of growing up in St. Louis or tales of Lewis and Clark, OASIS Storytellers spin tales of interest for audiences of all ages.

Enrich the lives of mature adults, and your own, by volunteering as an instructor for OASIS educational programs.

Health Fairs
Represent OASIS at local health fairs! This is a great opportunity for people who are looking for an occasional event close to home.

Volunteer Journalist
Calling all writers! We are looking for volunteers to help us conduct interviews and write stories featuring the programs and people of OASIS.

Be a part of our catalog production as a volunteer proofreader. The hours are flexible and you can work from home.

Donor Campaign
Join our fund development team! Our annual donor campaign kicks off in September and volunteers are needed to help with letter writing and phone calls to donors.
